Excerpts from the script will be performed

The Garden of Endemol is a reality TV show born from the utopian aspirations of Joop van der Ende and John de Mol, founders of Endemol, a television production company. It forms the core of a science fiction work currently in pre-production, which expounds the devastating impact of the programme upon humanity; through the eyes of a disfigured archaeologist, who is speaking from a distant future, ravaged by war. He explains the historical lead up to the chaos in which he lives and hopes that in telling us of his fate, we may be encouraged to change ours. The story begins with the colonisation of Endemol by an alternate dimension, created by the Hadron Collider in 2012, for the purposes of their reality TV experiment ‘The Garden of Endemol’.

‘The Garden of Endomol’ is so entertaining that it comes to govern the mentality of a nation before provoking a UN intervention, alongside a reactionary iconoclastic Reformation, a cult religion and ultimately an aesthetically motivated World War that changes the face of humanity. The finished film will be premiered in October as part of the Serpentine Gallery Garden Marathon.

Born 1987 in London, Sophie von Cundale is a video artist and science fiction fan who lives and works in Peckham. Previous work has been included in Sketch, London, Kunsthalle Exnergasse at WUK in Vienna, Resovision at Frieze Art fair, published in The White Review and Hannah Barry Gallery publications. She exhibits as part of art group S P A C E C R A F T and makes television with artists Kerri Meehan.
